Psalm 1

It has been a while since I have taken the time to make a post. I have been trying hard, by the grace of God, to accomplish that goal of settlin' for nothing less than something more. :) In pursuit of such a goal, I have found myself reading through the Old Testament of the Bible. While I profess to be a Christ follower, I have yet to read through the Bible in its entirety; therefore this has proven to be a necessary, and honor and privilege as God has revealed to me new things about Himself and the people He calls the church to be. My goal for my students has in fact become my goal... to grasp the infinite value and practicality of God's Word as it relates our lives. My prayer is to become so dependent on His Word that if it would falter I would fall flat on my face.

So I finally made it through the Psalms last night. I was refreshed by the 1 Psalm and as reminisced how Dr. Wilson spiritedly and heartedly quoted in years past. I have been encouraged by two others this week in passing as I mentioned how I was reading through the O.T. and the expressed the same goal. Thanks for the encouragement.

Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.

He is like a tree planted by streams of water
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither
Whatever he does prospers

Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.

My the Lord my God add a blessing to the reading of His Word.
